Welcome to Obsession.... my "Eye-Catching Item of the Week" page and Creme de la Creme of Crap Pile

In case you didn't know, I'm slightly obsessive compulsive. (Or so everyone says) Now, sometimes this can be a good thing (it drives stranger people than me away for one), but it can also be a roving curse that causes me to lunge at the first thing that catches my fancy. Now, this may be anything from potted meat to lion shaped candles, but guaranteed, it'll probably be strange. I've always been attracted to the weirder side of life, but sometimes I should just be slapped.

So here they are, my obsessions, and other (possibly weekly) strange findings.

Now if you thought I was kidding about the lion candle, you are sorely mistaken. My grandmother actually gave this to me... she's known for giving away wonderful little trinkets such as this for all sorts of joyous occasions. Christmas had never been more colorful, trust me on that.

About two weeks ago I stumbled upon somthing wonderful. (Actually, my good buddy Tom convinced me after 5 minutes of hardline persuasion) and behold, a new obsession was born. If you haven't seen it already, Ranma 1/2 totally kicks ass. I'm not really an Anime nut, but even I bowed down to be whipped by this divine production of Japanese design.

Really, what could be better than a main character who is both a boy and a girl, Chinese curses, crazy love/hate relationships, violence, and senseless acts of nudity?

One day while walking in the ghetto with Bryan I chanced upon this seemingly ordinary, yet strikingly lovely little guitar pic. I'm not really sure why it is so significant to me; perhaps because it bears the image of a turtle, which I knowingly have an affinity towards. Maybe because it is a particularely keen shade of orange. Maybe it just smells funny and I'm not percieving the fumes correctly. I'm not sure, but I like it.

(
August 11, 2002) I found another one while walking through the Dallas Wal-Mart. hehehe!

Tom, you are such a bastard. Not only am I completely hooked on Anime now, but I've found the wonder that is JPOP as well. First it was Star Trek, then Lexx. For a short time I played Diablo with such a ferocious energy I thought I was set for life... *sighs* But now, it's a full blown orgy of Ranma 1/2, Neon Genesis Evangelion, Urusei Yatsura, Excel Saga, Hikaru Utada, and the occassional song by Kinki Kids. There was a time when I secretly cursed all those afflicted with te Anime bug; all the Sailor Moon retards running around with their cheap 99¢ plastic wands, the hordes of lonely pre-pubescents rushing to their local comic book stores to spend their meager allowances on just -one more- manga, the endless proclamations of badly pronounced Japanese catch phrases and theme songs. What has become of me....

"Yappa Yappa, ii shan ten,
hashagu koi wa ike no koi"

Thats's what.
